A Century of Discovery: An Introduction to the Oriental Institute Museum

This virtual presentation will provide an introduction to the Oriental Institute (OI) of the University of Chicago, a pioneering, interdisciplinary research center housing also a world-renowned Museum. We will look at the OI's past 100 years of excavation and archaeological projects carried out across the Middle East, followed by an overview of the collections, galleries, and highlight objects on display in the Museum—a presentation rich with stories of exploration, archival photos, and ancient objects! The presentation will be given by Kiersten Neumann, OI Museum curator, and will include a Q & A.
