The Poetry Foundation recognizes the power of words to transform lives. We work to amplify poetry and celebrate poets by fostering spaces for all to create, experience, and share poetry. The Foundation is also the publisher of Poetry magazine, founded in Chicago by Harriet Monroe in 1912.
The Poetry Foundation’s location in River North houses a poetry library, exhibition space, and performance space. Events include readings, lectures, book clubs, workshops, and celebrations of poetry. All events are free and open to the public, including live captioners (CART) and/or American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, and offer opportunities to connect virtually from anywhere. Learn more and register for events at www.PoetryFoundation.org/Events.
